Mayor Derek Armstead is the current mayor of Linden. He shared that his family has lived in Linden for almost 100 years. He has been a life-long resident of Linden. Armstead was elected as mayor of Linden in 2014. Prior to that, he had served on the Linden City Council since 1993. His experience includes working as a programmer for Union County’s Data Processing Department. Armstead graduated from Linden High School and attended Union County College Currently, approaching 10 years of serving as the Mayor of Linden.
